Our Story
Back in June 2023 one of our founders was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Her wonderful family and friends decided to put together a hamper. In that hamper was some really useful hand made items that helped with recovery. These items can come with a costly price tag, so we put our heads together to see what we could do. We found that that the items were fairly easy to make and we wanted to help make lives of those who are recovering surgery better for as little or no cost as possible, so the idea of Little Sewn Comforts was born. Making the sewn items has been therapeutic way of getting through the treatment and diagnosis of a loved one.
What we do
Little Sewn Comforts is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing support and comfort to people during their post-surgery recovery period.
We sew comfy items like surgical drain bags, seat belt covers and post surgery cushions, as we believe that very individual deserves to heal with dignity and comfort.
What we offer
If you know of anyone who is in need of a sewn comfort, please let us know. Anyone who needs a comfie outside of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole we are asking for postage and packaging, until we sustain ourselves.
Post surgery heart cushions
Our post surgery heart shaped cushions are designed to be placed under your arm to stop the weight of your arm resting on your scar tissue. The ribbon helps keep the cushion in place. Ideal for mastectomy, lumpectomy or under arm surgeries but can be used for many more.
Post surgery cuddle cushions
Our post surgery cuddle cushion provides full protection to the tummy and chest areas. It also provides protection to any scar tissue in the chest or side areas by ensuring your arms don't touch sensitive scar tissue. They also feature a handy front pocket to store your remote or mobile phone and a back pocket that you can place a hot or cold pack in for extra comfort. Ideal for surgeries in the arm, chest or tummy areas.
Seat belt covers
Our seat belt covers, also known as seat belt protectors or seat belt shoulder pads, is a soft cushioned or padded sleeve that is designed to be attached to a seat belt. The seat belt covers pads your sensitive areas from the pressure of the seat belt whilst you are recovering.

Stoma bag covers
Our stoma bag covers have been designed to fit snuggly over a surgically fitted stoma bag. They have an easy access panel at the back for ease of emptying.
